She was loved and will be missed by her parents, April Shifflett and Kenny Thomas; grandparents; aunts; uncles; cousins; and many family and friends. We will all miss you! ANN THOMAS WINGFIELD PARRACK
Ann Thomas Wingfield Parrack, 83, of Charlottesville, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2009, at a local hospital. She was born June 4, 1926, in Charlottesville, the daughter of the late Otis C. Thomas. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie Shifflett Thomas Dunsmore; and her stepfather, Stuart G. Dunsmore of Staunton; a brother, Eugene Gordon Thomas; her first husband, James L. Wingfield; their son, Gordon Wayne Wingfield; and her second husband, F. A. "Bud" Parrack. Ann is survived by her sister, Deanna Dunsmore of New York City; a brother, Stuart G. Dunsmore Jr. and his wife, Janie, of Stanley, North Carolina; two nieces, Kim Smith and her husband, Buddy, of Stanley, North Carolina, and Carolyn Clements and her husband, Joey, of Charlottesville; three grandnieces, Jessie, Claire and Katlyn Smith; and three grandnephews, Chad, Billy, and Chris Clements. It was Ann's request that there be no funeral services. In lieu of flowers, she requested that any memorial be in the form of a kind deed for someone in need. CHARLIE W. THOMAS
Charlie W. Thomas Sr., 49, of Crozet, died Wednesday, March 6, 1996, at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born July 14, 1946, in Albemarle County, son of Martha S. Thomas and the late Raymond W. Thomas. Mr. Thomas was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Mt. Plain Baptist Church and of the Charlottesville Moose Lodge #1028. He was employed by Lee-Jud Development Corporation of North Garden. In addition to his mother, Mr. Thomas is survived by one son, Charlie W. (CW) Thomas, Jr. of Crozet, a brother, Raymond W. Thomas and his wife Vickie, of Crozet, three sisters, Peggy Jarvis and her husband, Tom of Mechums River, Mary McAllister and her husband Ernest, of Crozet and Janice Shifflett and her husband, Wallace of Crozet, five nieces, two great nieces, one great-nephew and numerous friends. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 1996 at Mr. Moriah United Methodist Church in White Hall. The Rev. David Collier will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p. m. tonight at Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Crozet.

EVERETTE LEE THOMAS
Everette Lee Thomas, 86, of Crozet, died Monday, July 5, 1999, at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville. Born Sept. 18, 1912, in Albemarle County, he was a son of the late James David and Mary Ralston, Thomas. He retired from Acme Visible Records after 28 ½ years of service. He was a long-time member of Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church. Mr. Thomas is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Maye Shifflett Thomas; a daughter Linda Woolfrey and her husband, Larkin, of Crozet; a foster daughter, Mary Sue Deeds and he husband Anthony, of Florida; and a foster grandson, Kevin Breeden of Florida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Lucy Thomas; one sister, Mamie Evans; and two brothers, Raymond Thomas and Newton Thomas. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church in White Hall, with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. John Brenneke will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Teague Funeral Home in Charlottesville. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Gordon Morris, Dr. Cynthia Spaulding and Dr. William Hammond and their staffs. Teague Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

HELEN JEAN THOMAS COON

ELIDA -- Helen J. Coon, 84, passed away at 10:15 PM on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Elmcroft Hospice Center in Elida. Helen was born on Thursday, September 10, 1931, in Lima, to Harry and Leona (Shiflet) Thomas, who preceded her in death. On Sunday, January 30, 1949, in Lima, she married Jack Delbert Coon, who preceded her in death on December 8, 2011. Helen retired as a Nurse from Lima Memorial Hospital after 25 years of service. She was a member of Central Christian Church. Spending time with her grandkids was what she loved doing most. She is survived by: a daughter, Cheryl Coon-Graham of Lima; two sons, Kurt D. (Lori) Coon of Elida and a son, Jack (Deborah) Coon of Cincinnati; thirteen grandchildren; twenty five great-grandchildren and a sister, Joyce Avery. She is preceded in death by: brother, James Thomas. The family will receive friends from 9 AM to 11 AM on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio. A funeral service will begin at 11 AM on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio. Rev. Dr. Norman Witthuhn will officiate. JAMES EDWARD THOMAS SR.

James Edward Thomas Sr. born June 2, 1933, went to be with the Lord peacefully in his home on Wednesday, September 30, 2015. "The Boy" as he was lovingly referred to, was a remarkable man that dedicated his life to his country, his friends, his community, and above all else his family. The only boy of seven children, he raised his six sisters after his father's passing. He enlisted in the army and served his country proudly during the Korean War.Upon his return home, the self-educated entrepreneur began his first of many successful businesses, a small engine repair shop. After 35 years of working for ConAgra, James and his wife Sandra opened up Thomas Grocery on route 20 in Albemarle County. There they prided themselves on providing the best products and services available at a fraction of the cost. James loved gardening. Whether it be vegetables or flowers; his green thumb could grow anything. He had a fondness for all creatures, and enjoyed his time spent with his sweet dogs and cats. He also enjoyed slow afternoon car rides with his wife, Sandra. Above all, James loved his family. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Nothing brought more life to him than spending time with his family and friends. His strength, knowledge, determination, and loving heart were immeasurable. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife, Sandra B. Thomas; the mother of his children and lifelong friend, Elizabeth Lucille Thomas; son, James "Bug" E. Thomas Jr. and his wife, Debbie; son, Kenneth Wayne Thomas and his wife, Kimberly; daughter, Diane Marie Fox and her husband, Randy; son, Jeffrey Wade Thomas and his wife, Heidi; daughter, Cathy Ann Fogle; daughter, Donna Kay Thomas; son, William Duke Fogle; daughter, Autumn Wendy Meadows and her husband, Lee, 20 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, with whom he shared a very special bond. He is also survived by his sisters, Gladys Morris, Rosie Lillard and her husband, Robert Lillard, Ann McDaniel and her husband, Robert McDaniel, Catherine "Kitty" Fisher, Lorrene "Rennie" Gibson, and Lucille "Lou" Goodson. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Dimarco and Edna Thomas; his daughter, Phyllis "Duchess" Marshall; his son, Michael Baron Fogle; his brothers in law, George Fisher, Ernest Morris, Earl Clements, Franklin Gibson, and Larry Goodson. The family will accept visitors on Sunday, October 4, 2015, at Teague Funeral Home from 5 until 8 p.m. A service honoring his incredible life will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Teague's with graveside to follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.Any donations can be made to the Charlottesville First Church of the Nazarene, 3056 Louisa Road, Keswick VA 22947 on his behalf. JOHN EDWARD THOMAS
John Edward Thomas, 75, of Stanley, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at Page Memorial Hospital in Luray. Mr. Thomas was born March 8, 1936, in Page County, and was a son of the late Saul Joseph and Edith Mae (Dallas) Thomas. John owned and operated Thomas Landscaping for many years prior to his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and greatly enjoyed pitching horseshoes, playing cards and watching TV. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, step-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. On Aug. 28, 1971, he married the former Janet Shifflett, who survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Thomas is survived by a stepson, Don Smiley and wife, JoAnn, of Elkton; a brother, Howard Thomas and wife, Doris, of Stanley; four sisters, Magaline Jenkins of Luray, Charlotte Jenkins and husband, Joe, Irene Dinges and husband, Clyde, and Evon Hilliard and husband, Larry, all of Stanley; three step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ricky Thomas and Jerry Thomas. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 24, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton with Pastor Charles Clinedinst officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton. The Thomas family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may also visit the Thomas home at anytime. JOSEPH VERNON THOMAS
Joseph Vernon Thomas, aged 67, proprietor of a filling station on the Spotswood Trail, west of Elkton, and a well-known member of the Elkton community for many years, died from a heart attack at Rockingham Memorial Hospital yesterday morning at 11:30. Mr. Thomas had been in ill health for several weeks, and decided to go to the hospital for an examination yesterday morning. He died unexpectedly a short time after reaching the institution. He clerked in Leebrick's store for years, and then had operated a filling station and store on the Spotswood Trail. Mr. Thomas was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, and was a man of high Christian character. He was a member of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics for many years. Besides his wife, who before marriage was Miss Bessie Shifflett, he is survived by a brother, Charles Thomas of Shenandoah. Funeral services will be held from the East Point United Brethren Church Friday afternoon at two o'clock, his pastor the Rev. A. M. B. Snapp, of Elkton, officiating. The Junior Order will have charge of the services at the grave in the East Point cemetery.

Raymond Wingfield Thomas, 75, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 1989, at his home in Crozet. He was son of the late James David Thomas and Molly Roston Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Martha Shifflett, Thomas; three daughters, Mrs. Thomas "Peggy Jarvis of Mechums River, Mrs. Ernest "Mary" McAllister of Crozet and Mrs. Wallace "Janice " Shifflett of Crozet; two sons, Raymond W. Thomas, and Charlie W. Thomas both of Crozet; a brother Everette Thomas of Crozet; and six grandchildren, C. W. Thomas, Jr., Joann Jarvis, Patricia Jarvis, Wendy McAllister, Kaye McAllister, Melissa McAllister. He was retired from Acme Visible Records and was a member of the browns Cove United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Piedmont, 1002 E., Jefferson St., Charlottesville, Va. Or the Western Albemarle Rescue Squad. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, graveside with Dr. Roy Thomas officiating at the Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church Cemetery in Whitehall.
