This cemetery is called the Hiden Shiflett Cemetery. It is on the Johnny Sparks farm about 1/4 mile west of Gentry's Methodist Church. There are several upright field stones without visible markings. According to Mrs. Sparks, Hiden Shiflett (James Hiden Shiflett, son of Ferrel and Catherine Shiflett), Amanda Shiflett, his first wife, and several infant children are buried here. Hiden was born May 10, 1856 in Greene County and died in 1927. His second marriage was to Sis Sullivan. Hiden was married a third time to Mary F. Robbins in 1913, a divorcee, who was the daughter of William & B.A. Durrett. Mrs. Sparks also said that Hiden planted fields of wheat on the side of the mountain and that Tinker Shiflett lived just a little further up the dirt lane from the location of this cemetery.
